Sensei Vaughn began karate training while attending the University of
Tennessee, earning his black belt in 1977. In 1981 he was invited to
Honolulu, Hawaii to teach for Master Kiyohisa Hirano of Japan International
Karate Center.
In 1989 he joined the Japan Karate Association under Sensei Edward Fujiwara.
In 2003 he joined the Shotokan Karate ternational
Federation (www.skifusa.com)
under Master Hirokazu Kanazawa.
Over the past 30 years Sensei Vaughn has instructed over 22,000 karate
classes in Tennessee, Hawaii and Maine and has promoted over 250 personal
students to the rank of Black Belt.
